Josiah’s THREE!

Our THREE-year-old!

It’s official, we now have a 3-year-old and 4-year-old in the house! Josiah turned 3 almost two weeks ago. His birthday celebration was extravagant, as the whole week before we were at Disney and he was getting birthday treats galore. When we returned, he was super excited to get ready for his lumberjack party with some close friends and family. For his birthday, we served flapjacks and bacon for the lumberjack, he played outside with his buddies on a considerably warm day for January complete with a camp fire, S’mores, bean bag hatchet throwing, and of course cupcakes. His favorite part was receiving his big boy room, and his big boy bed!

Josiah… you are such a gift to our family. I never imagined the bond you and your sister would have, (or that you would turn three so very soon)! I remember holding your tiny little body the day you were born, so excited for you sister as she beamed and curiously looked you over. You two are inseparable, you’re almost her baby too, except the fact that you are also a major comfort for her and admittedly… her very best friend. May you two always be that close!

We are so proud of you, son! This past year you’ve conquered a lot. You’ve been stronger in the face of all your doctors appointments and hospital visits then I could ever imagine. You’re so rambunctious, and I love it. You’re very gifted in the area of sports at such an early age (no surprises there), and your favorite past time is playing with all your trucks, robots, stormtroopers, and sports stuff. You decided this year that you want to “be a Marine, like Daddy”, I don’t know how I feel about that just yet. You’re funny, you’re sweet, you’re loving, and you never slow down. You love Jesus, and music! You’re smart, and thoughtful and love to sing and dance. You’re skipping steps and stages of toddler-hood because you just want to be independent and keep up with your sister! We love watching you grow sweet boy, we sure love watching you grow!

Happy Birthday sweet boy!
