Josiah is 4!

May the FOUR-th be with you is the slogan on Josiah’s birthday shirt this year, complete with Darth Vader holding balloons. This kid is FOUR! I’m not quite sure how the calendar pages keep turning, but I sure am enjoying every single second of raising this rambunctious little boy. This year, since we returned from Disney World the very day before Josiah’s birthday, we had a small party at home. Of course, it was Star Wars themed. We always start birthdays with special pancake breakfast’s, and then we took the birthday boy to his favorite store, Target, to pick out the “spensive Star Wars Lego” of his choice. Top shelf Legos and cake were all this guy needed for a galactic birthday. There were lots of smiles, lots of cuddles, lots of pizza eating, and lots of Lego building and playing. Happy Birthday, buddy!

Josiah is the sweetest, most kindest little boy. He is very loving, very affectionate, and gives praises easily to friends, family, Mommy and Daddy. My favorite part of four is that he will climb up in my lap, wrap his little arms around me tightly and call me beautiful, (talk about a heartbreaker)! He has another side to him, and if you know him, that side is completely opposite of what I just described. He has such a passion for life that he’s usually loud, doesn’t stop to think, can hardly slow his toes to a walk and incessantly runs and jumps everywhere, and is quite a bulldozer at whatever activity is happening because he physically cannot contain his excitement. He is loud, brave, and bold, and I love it! He’s nothing short of amazing.

Physically, he’s doing well. While still diagnosed with a blood disorder, this past year we said goodbye to being followed by pediatric oncology and hematology and only annual visits with his regular pediatrician! Hello, favor of God, our boy is HEALED and HEALTHY! Josiah is growing well, developing well, and is WELL! His personality is blooming and I could sit and listen to his imagination while playing for hours. It’s so foreign to me how his little boy mind works, but I sure do love watching him grow and develop into his own little person.

Josiah loves God. He knows his name means God is a Healer, he loves his family, he is his Daddy’s boy (but sometimes, only Mommy will do), and his sister hung the moon and stars. He calls her his “girlfriend”, but what he really means is she’s his best friend. They are truly each other’s forever friends.

Favorite things as Josiah turns four are anything Star Wars, super heroes, trucks and trains. We are still absolutely enamored with Marines and the military, and he says he is going to be a pilot when he grows up, specifically a Marine Pilot, and Daddy says he’ll have to fly the Harrier if that’s the case. He is still determined to be a Marine like Daddy.

Here’s to my never slowing down, always full of life, always grateful, handsome little man. Mommy and Daddy love you so! Happy 4th Birthday, we are so excited for another year of making memories with you!

Happy Birthday to our amazing FOUR-year-old!
