Okay, admittedly, it has been over THREE months since I last posted. What can I say besides, where did the last three months go? Most notably, I should lead with a statement about how many changes can occur in a three month time period. At my last post, we had just recently celebrated Addisyn’s first birthday, and were looking forward to summer activities. Now, Addisyn is 16 months old! She is  21 lbs 15 oz. according to her last check up and she is growing and changing every single day. Speaking of growing and changing, so is our family! We will welcome baby Hall number 2 in January of 2016! That’s right, Addisyn will be a big sister!

We have spent the last three months thoroughly enjoying summer. Addisyn loves to be outside. Her favorite things this summer are regular beach trips, spending afternoons at the pool, taking walks around the neighborhood, going “weee” (as she calls it) at the local parks and on her own swing set, and bubbles (any kind of bubbles)! She is now talking in phrases and can say almost any word she wishes. Her vocabulary is superb and far mature for her age, which mommy doesn’t mind at all. She still is a huge fan of books, and is a little socialite, talking to everyone she sees when she’s out and about. There are no better days spent than those watching her change, grow, and learn.  Every day is an adventure and I still want to freeze time to just meander through these days so that they don’t pass us by so fast.

A prominent lesson that I’ve been reminded of in the last several months is the amazing timing of the Lord. The way events are orchestrated in our lives is not by chance, but by the grace of God. I have seen several close friends who have longed for various blessings frolic in God’s grace and share amazing news.  I have seen God once again fulfill requested blessings in abundance to those who are faithful to Him. I sit back in awe and wonder at the true seasons there are in our lives. Admittedly, I am currently wishing away summer and waiting on fall. I’m ready for crisp air, crunchy leaves, pumpkin everything…you get it.  Funny thing is, in our lives, we spend far too much time wishing away seasons and not allowing God’s timing and plans to supersede our own desires. Yet, He has plans for us that are more magnificent than we can imagine. They might not come in the form that we expect, and they may not come when we think they should (is it really another month before fall arrives?!) but inevitably, His blessings arrive, and afterwards we find that we are much more grateful and content in His timing over our own.

Psalm 139:16-17 (MSG) “Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day. Your thoughts – how rare, how beautiful! God, I’ll never comprehend them!”

How amazing our lives are. How amazing YOUR life is. You are far more loved than you know!
