That Twinkle…That Glow!
Wow! Another month in the books, another few weeks crossed off the countdown to our baby boy. Time is flying in a private jet, it seems! We are less than 7 weeks away from meeting our main man and we are busy preparing and trying to wrap our brains around what it will be like growing to a family of four. We are so very blessed! Everywhere we go, everything we do, we are reminded of the gifts the Lord has given us and I am so thankful to be right here, right now! The house is full of the twinkle of lights, that Addisyn is truly infatuated with! The stockings are hung by the chimney with care, the house is a aglow with holiday cheer, yet no sugarplums are dancing as sleeping is intermittent (hello end of pregnancy!). Thanksgiving was amazing. Nana and Papa were here to celebrate with us and we cooked all day and ate a fabulous meal all while in our pajamas. That’s my kind of holiday! Addisyn coined a new term, instead of saying, “Happy Thanksgiving!” she decided that “Happy Birthday Green Beans,” was way more appropriate. Hope everyone had a wonderful celebration of thanks and green beans. Now back to those twinkling lights, Popcorn the elf’s arrival from the North Pole, and hopes for visions of sugar plums each night! Bring on the Christmas cheer! Josiah’s closer to being welcomed into the world! His room is ready to go, his clothes are washed and hung, we have a few more things to check off our list, but we are in awe that we have so few weeks left before he arrives. Addisyn is so excited about being a big sister and happily transitioned to her “big girl room”, she excitedly tells anyone who asks about her about her baby brother in mommy’s belly. The holidays are always an emotional time. Each blessing that we are thankful for is combined with the longing for my sister and wishing the void that is apparent didn’t exist in our lives. I can’t help but look at the twinkle of the lights and the glow from the Christmas tree and imagine the glory and beauty that my sister is taking in daily. I also like to think part of her remains here with us, so she can experience the joy in the eyes of Addisyn that glows ever so brightly. Addisyn knows that the Christmas tree is “for Jesus,” and Aunt Mandi get’s to experience Christmas and every day in His presence. How truly amazing that must be. The best part about carrying on with our Christmas season is watching the sheer delight in Addisyn’s eyes as we work on making as many memories as possible! Christmas has always been my favorite, but the best view is the one where I’m watching her shriek and smile daily enjoying the Christmas season!
