Hey Addy, What’s New? You’re TWO (almost!)

Where do I begin? In two short days my favorite girl in the world will turn TWO! My little best friend, a piece of my heart beating outside of my chest, is growing before my very eyes. You made me a mother and allowed me to experience love from a perspective and depth I had never known. You’ve taught me so much in the last two years. You’ve made me a better me by allowing me to love and laugh with you. So what do I say when you turn two?

I say, “you’re amazing!” I’m still amazed at how my love grows for you daily. You are so smart, (like freakishly smart). You can count to 15, and just this week you sang your ABCs in their entirety out of nowhere. You’re absolutely gorgeous, with your beautiful blue eyes and blonde hair falling in your face, I could look at you all day. One of my favorite moments of the day is coming into your room after you wake and snuggling you with your crazy hair and sleepy eyes! Now that you’ve moved to your big girl bed, flawlessly I might add, I get to lay with you and cuddle for the two minutes you’ll allow it. Then it’s full speed ahead for the day!

Your current obsessions are music, dancing, hanging with your buddies, coloring, stickers, books, any anything outside. There is nothing more you enjoy than being outdoors. As soon as your eyes are open, you’re asking to go outside and also to see your buddies. Your friendship with Hudson and Addie is so precious, if you go a day (make that a few hours) without seeing them, you constantly ask for them. It’s so sweet that they’re a huge part of your world. You also love and adore being a big sister! Each morning you go to find baby “JoJo” and love on him. You so badly want him to talk and play with you. My heart melts when you love on him. Watching you two together makes me so happy. You two together are truly our greatest masterpiece. True love. You have a deep love and affection for your Daddy. He makes you so happy and likewise. You want to include him in everything we do, and you ask to call or “text” him daily, where you fill the screen with emoticons and then say, “okay, Mommy”, so I can hit send. Currently, you love Daddy taking you for bike rides, outside to play, or on your special daddy-daughter dates that eventually wind up in you getting a pink donut with sprinkles, your favorite! Know this, your Daddy is pretty amazing!

I watch how happy you are and I become immensely happy myself. When you swing (which you could stay in for hours) you often close your eyes and dance to the music in your own head. It is the most hilarious thing. I watch you and think, that’s the way I want to keep you. Blissfully happy with the sun on your sweet face, and not a care in the world. Stay this way forever, please.

In the last year you’ve grown so much. You learned to walk, talk in complete sentences, count, say your alphabet, you know some colors, and can always identify when you see triangles, circles, squares, and hearts. You keep us on our toes. I can’t imagine how you will grow over the next year. I’m so thankful to be your mommy and have you wrap those little arms around me and keep me laughing constantly. So before you turn two, all I can say is you’re simply amazing, please stay that way. Keep being awesome, and know I’m always there for you, my love.
