Life Keeps Moving: Addy’s 2 year update, Josiah’s 3 month update.

Well, here we are again, a few weeks past time for an update, but what can I say? I spend my days keeping two little people alive! The days are passing rapidly and we’ve been busy cramming fun in every single moment.

Addisyn successfully turned two and her “Happy Birthday Donut Party” as she so adamantly named it was a great time! Thanks to all who helped celebrate Addy turning 2 and making it so special for her. She’s talked about her party ever since, and she’s delighted to now be a “big girl!”  Speaking of big girls, she has so easily transitioned to her big girl bed among taking on other big girl roles. I watch her do new things each day and she never ceases to amaze me. She’s quite hilarious, which is one of the best parts of my day as she keeps me laughing constantly. She is totally embracing this big sister role, and adores her little brother. We spend each moment that we can outside or playing with her buddies. The zoo, several local parks, walks, the oceanfront, and the botanical gardens have been our go to spots in the last few weeks. Every day is a different kind of adventure. Addisyn truly has joy to be alive and experience life daily. She’s content doing the simplest things: watching for butterflies, looking at flowers, stomping puddles, looking at the sky, blowing bubbles and other simple things provide her incredible delight. She reminds me to slow down and enjoy the moment I’m in. She keeps me on track; my little best friend.

Little brother has been super busy growing up. Someone please tell me how this guy is already THREE months old as of this week. He is just amazing. I could stare at him all day. In a way it’s like raising the same baby all over again because he looks exactly like Addisyn, BUT I did have 3 people in one day tell me he looked like me. Words I never heard with Addy. Justin is sort of a genetic bully, but I love him deeply anyway.  Josiah is now cooing and laughing, he has rolled from belly to back once, he loves hanging out in his little toy gym, he will find a television screen and contort himself to watch if at all possible, he is getting better and stronger at doing tummy time, and he’s started checking out his surroundings noticing more outside of Mommy and Daddy. He’s a pretty good sleeper although still waking for a middle of the night feeding most nights. Some nights he sleeps through the night and other nights he’s up 3 times. He is very much the opposite of his meticulously scheduled sister. For the most part, he’s a go with the flow baby and is happy tagging along with whatever we are getting into that day. His eyes are starting to turn blue and his hair is growing back in dark brown. I believe he’ll continue to look just like Daddy, and that’s okay with me, I mean he is totally handsome.

We are in the process of creating our summer bucket list. So far it includes lots of bubble blowing, walks, park trips, bike riding, beach days, pool trips, zoo visits, and Addy seeing how many hours of the total day she can clock outside. We’re ready to enjoy our first summer with our new little man and being a family of four!
