Josiah’s 4 Month Update

As usual, I’ve been meaning to write this update for a few weeks, considering that Josiah’s already 4 1/2 months as we speak (Oh, sweet second child…I promise I love you so much!)  We have been loving our crazy, busy, fun-filled, never a dull moment life with these kiddos and the days are passing incredibly fast!

Josiah is officially 4 months old. He can laugh, coo, and loves to hear himself talk.  He’s not a fan of pacifiers, not a fan of crib-napping, and not a fan of sleeping through the night like his sister was at this age.  He loves to be sitting up and able to see the world and adores watching his sister’s every move. He weighed in at 16 lbs and 26 inches long at his 4 month check up and took his (4) shots like a champ! He recently went through the transition where overnight it appeared he became an infant and no longer a newborn. His ability to pay attention to his surroundings and interact with us completely changed overnight; and we now have a smiling, grabbing, rolling precious little boy versus the sweet sleeping newborn he previously was. His hair is growing in a gorgeous dark brown and his eyes seem to still be undecided as to if they will be blue like Daddy’s or more green like Mommy’s. This past month he went to the ocean for the first time, got in the pool for the first time, and went on his first vacation trip. For the most part, he is totally happy tagging along for whatever activities we have planned for the day for big sister. I can’t help myself from holding him and staring at him for lengthy periods, he’s just so handsome! We all love you so much, Josiah!

Addisyn especially loves her little bro, she looks for him as soon as she wakes up and gives him lots of hugs and kisses each day. It’s the most amazing feeling watching the two of them together, and the sweetest moments are when I catch Addy loving on him, even if I have to remind her not to squish her brother…she brings a whole new meaning to “smothering” someone with kisses.

These babies are keeping us on our toes, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.  We are already fulfilling items on our summer bucket list as we took our first vacation of the summer, started spending days at the beach, and spend every evening we can outside at the pool, riding bikes, blowing bubbles, taking a walk in the wagon, or heading to the park.
