Intentional Living

Happy Half Birthday Little Man- And Disney Awaits, give me your best trip hacks!

Summer is in full swing and we are busy packing the days full of sun, sand, and fun. We’ve had lots of family visits, beach days, and pool evenings with plenty of sidewalk-chalk, bubbles, and bike rides for all. We just celebrated Josiah turning 6 months old this week. It is surreal to think he has been in our lives 6 months already, and even more unbelievable to think that he hasn’t been in our lives forever. We are all totally enamored with him!

At 6 months he can sit up independently, roll over, babbles and shrieks constantly, and is beginning to push up onto his back legs. He loves to splash and kick in the bath tub, is content watching big sister do any and everything, and just recently has been overjoyed with starting solid foods. He is a happy, smiling, laughing little boy who has also found a love for sleep (praise Jesus)!  We went Friday for his 6 month appointment at which he weighed in at almost 19 lbs (75th percentile) and 27 inches (60th percentile). He’s growing, happy, and healthy. We are so blessed!image

Addisyn continues to be living the life. She’s found recent delight in practicing her dance/gymnastics moves on anything that she thinks appropriate to attempt to climb, and of course all things she doesn’t know are unfit to climb as well.  If you haven’t heard of The Little Gym, you should totally check it out! Addy does a dance/gymnastics combo class that has in just a few short weeks instilled major confidence in her.  She was previously a timid climber and now my most used phrase is “don’t hang on that!” She is so eager for Josiah to walk, talk, and play with her. From the time her feet hit the floor in the mornings she is searching for him. Throughout the day she has to update him on all events, and asks him 52 questions. He is content to watch her every move. She can make him laugh and smile easier than anyone. It’s safe to say that the most precious thing I have ever laid eyes on is the two of them together. They have a pretty sweet love already, and I never knew how happy I could be until I watched them together. I find myself taking in all this adorable cuteness and wanting to freeze myself in these moments.  This…this is what life is all about.

The days are full with endless chores, lots of diaper changes, lists that grow faster than I can check items off; and I wouldn’t change a thing. My goal from the time I wake to the time I attempt to sleep is to maximize the time with my little ones. Their smiles are the absolute best, and what I live for.
