The Fairy Tale Part 2- Mickey and Minnie’s House

The week passed slowly, which was amazing. Our trip was not a rushed blink of an eye, which we were all grateful for. Although we went non-stop, we had two amazing kiddos who hung in there and reveled in the experiences. Josiah receives the best baby award for not making a peep on our departing/return flights, nor the entire week we were at Disney; and Addisyn was completely star struck and proved she can hang with the best of the Disney-goers. That’s happy magic right there! Here’s part dos!

Day 4 arrived and we headed off to Hollywood Studios where we got down with all of the Disney Junior pals at Disney Junior Live, had lunch at Hollywood and Vine with Doc McStuffins, Jake, Princess Sofia, and Handy Manny (which delighted Josiah the most!), made Addy’s week by meeting Buzz Lightyear and Woody (and Woody even signed the boot of Addy’s Woody doll), took a ride around Andy’s room shooing virtual obstacles (Toy Story Mania, so fun!), made a trip to Arondale to sing with Anna and Elsa, met Olaf, and took a break back at the hotel for a quick siesta. After naps, we headed back to the park to have dinner, do a little shopping, and catch the Fantasmic show. We took two sleepyheads back on the bus right after the fire works and as Addy climbed into bed that night she said, “This is the best ever!” I even got some amazing goodies as surprises that night too, the Disney Dooney & Bourke bag I had been eyeing (complete with Mickey ears ice cream!), and the castle Pandora charm that I had only heard about! Thanks Justin and Papa! You guys are the best and know how to make a girl feel like a princess!

Day 5, Friday, we geared up for Magic Kingdom day 2 by having iconic Mickey Waffles at Chef Mickey’s, Addy directly going to her favorite rides, the carousel and Dumbo again, hung out with some princesses (Cinderella & Elena), had ice cream on Main Street and took our family photo in front of the castle, hung out with the talking Mickey Mouse for a second time, browsed in the shops, walked through the Castle after watching the show there, pushed two sleeping kiddos around while Daddy and Papa caught Space Mountain, lunched at a tucked away restaurant after watching the parade and beating the torrential downpour of rain that came out of nowhere, paid $10 per poncho for everyone to be dry just in time for it to stop raining (lol) and headed on to Mine Train, and meeting Princess Ariel at her Grotto, collecting our last signature for our picture frame mat, a dear masterpiece of an idea by my bestie (Thanks Lo!). We closed up shop by heading back to the hotel, visiting the arcade, and back to the “fairy tale” room to pack up our things.

The next morning we went to Minnie’s Beach Bash and had a delicious breakfast and celebrated both of the kids upcoming birthday with cupcakes. We caught the bus back to the “fairy tale”, and relaxed until it was time to head to the airport. Addy was just as eager to board the airplane as she had been to ride the rides at the parks, and even put both of her hands up in the air when we taxied down the runway to take off. (Goofball). Shortly into the flight she laid her head on my lap chattering away about her encounters with princesses and snowmen, flying with elephants, and seeing Mickey do Magic before she fell asleep. Little brother decided to forego his nap and snack while hanging out with Daddy most of the way home.

We landed in Norfolk, grabbed Star Bucks to help Mommy and Daddy through a night of unpacking and carried two sleepy babies home to kiss them goodnight after a magical vacation.  It was a priceless trip, and Addy’s jaw remained dropped in delight and excitement for most of the week while Josiah was constant smiles and giggles. The happiness on their faces was truly magical.  Addisyn still wakes each day talking about a different portion of her trip, and continues to ask when we will go back to see Buzz. Soon baby girl, very soon! I would say we successfully conquered our first (of many) Disney family trips. I’m already wishing for a bit more of the magic myself. Thanks Daddy for taking us on an amazing family vacation, and thank you Nana and Papa for going with us and helping to navigate Disney with a 2-year-old and not yet one-year-old, and sharing in the magic with us!

Our crew agrees, that it is the happiest place on Earth!
