Josiah is 13 Months and Welcome Spring in the Middle of Winter

So the recent weather trend in Hampton Roads has been pretty bipolar. One day it’s almost 80 degrees and you spend your afternoon watching your children happily frolic in the sand at the beach, and the very next day it’s 40 degrees and your toddler is super confused why she can’t wear her sandals and head out to play. Nevertheless, we have been busy enjoying whatever the day brings, whether that be bike rides to the docks, or family movie night on the couch with hot cocoa. We are enjoying a little spring during winter.

Josiah turned 13 months old this week. A fact that is still surreal to me. He has been busy following closely on his sister’s heels and often running circles around her. He is growing so much, and doing new things daily.  He now knows where his hair and his mouth are, and can say several new words. He’s added “cheese, Nana, Papa, baby, and choo choo” to his vocabulary but he spends most of his day yelling, “Addy, and Dada”.  He likes to make everyone laugh. Meal time is always fun because both Addy and JoJo take turns making each other crack up. I hope they’re always this close! His current favorite things are cars and throwing balls, and doing anything outside.  He and Addy have this new adorable bond that is even stronger than before. They will contently play together and Addisyn is so helpful and caring when it comes to him.  Addy has been ecstatic to return back to dance, where she’s now added Tap to her skill set. I’m not sure what is much cuter than watching several 3-4 year olds (Addy got to start independent class a bit early), dancing around in tap shoes and shrieking with joy. I love watching Addy’s love for dance. She truly has a passion for this at 2-years-old. I like a girl who knows what she wants, and Addy surely does! In other Addy news, we are making preps for soccer next month (how is my babygirl this big?), and getting excited about turning 3 at the end of March. She’s already making her party requests known. Addy’s current favorite things are Disney Princess movies, play-doh, stamps, drawing, taking bike rides, and riding her own tricycle and mini 4-wheeler around our neighborhood.

These two are surely keeping us on our toes, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.  Here’s to watching them grow, and making memories, my most favorite things to do!
