Jumping for JOY
Hi friends! It’s been a while since I’ve updated here, as we have been very busy as a family once again. 2021 brings with it new changes, beautiful changes, busy changes once again for our family. The past few months we have been knee deep in paper work, social workers, and preparations for our INFANT ADOPTION in case you’ve missed the news! We’re super excited to announce that we are pursuing an infant adoption, and have connected with a birth mother due in JULY 2021! We have seen God move BIG in our connection, as well as other ways of provision over this journey. We are very grateful! We feel God has called us to use this as a platform to bring awareness to and normalize adoption talk, as well as fundraise and work to provide financial assistance to other families who have a desire to pursue adoption. Adoption, primarily infant adoption has an estimated price tag of $15k-$50k depending upon specific circumstances in the United States. For more on our cause or our mission, or to support our fundraising efforts, hop over to createfamilies.org.
In the midst of adoption preparation, baby preparation (!), and fundraising efforts, we have Justin months away from completing his M.B.A. This man. He works SO hard for our family, and then still finds time to play for hours with his children, and stays up late multiple nights each week working on his master’s classes. Then he rises for work, and repeats it the very next day. All the while supporting me in the regular chaos of life these days. The kids and I are wrapping up our second year of homeschooling. We have one week left of school, and then a much needed getaway for our family (possibly our last getaway as a family of four)! The little ones have done well adjusting to covid life, but it sure is nice to be getting back to what feels like normal life with being able to meet in person again for church, and frequent our fave activities with friends.
Addisyn has excelled in first grade. She loves reading and language arts, loves art and drawing, loves science experiments, and tolerates math 🙂 She loves her Bible and devotional time, and the ability to read a pile of books a day if she chooses. She’s had so much growth academically and physically this year. She’s losing teeth left and right (4 to date), and breaking the bank with the tooth-fairy! Her favorite things are princesses, fairy-tales, unicorns, rainbows, music, dress-up, and drawing/painting. Addisyn at 7 (as we just celebrated her birthday), is the most intuitive, most spiritually minded child I have ever met. She loves Jesus unapologetically, and she’s so sweet and caring to all she meets! She’s our little socialite who takes friendship seriously, and has the most genuine heart!
Josiah has done a fantastic job as he finishes PK-4. He took a major interest in math and has become quite the math whiz in the last few months, sometimes helping his sister with basic math facts because his brain works so fast to solve them! It’s quite impressive! He is on a mission to learn how to read, as it’s a big goal for him (he can’t be undone by sister)! That boy loves anything military, loves sports, loves anything Star Wars, and his major past time is video gaming. We are not sure where this comes from, but we’ve already suggested that he decide to be developer at the age of 5! His biggest nemesis is the fact that Mom and Dad will not okay Fortnite. I lose major Mom points for that weekly. Josiah at 5 is the most loving, kind-hearted and considerate child. He’s happy to have just turned 5-years-old. He is always concerned for the needs and feelings of others, and he loves his Momma and Daddy, and his puppy, with a fierce passion!
Bravo, is now 6-months-old and 47 lbs of pure puppy-ness! He’s a very calm natured, obedient pup. He’s made the transition back to puppy very easy. His favorite thing is sleeping near his people and playing with his kids. I say his kids, because he doesn’t like letting them out of his sight. He also loves being outside. He took his first trip to the beach and after two hours there finally conquered his fear of the water discovering the ocean wasn’t so bad right before it was time to pack up.
That in a nutshell, is a lot of the reason’s we’re jumping for joy around here, and praising God for all He has done and how He is moving in our lives! We have been overwhelmed with support from our adoption journey. We are so grateful for those of you who have supported us, and reached out to us, to share your stories, share your hearts, or pray over us. If YOU have a need for prayer, please connect with us so our family can commune with you in those needs also!
XOXO,
The Hall family
