Life’s Delightful and I’m a Chick-Fil-A Mom AGAIN :)
September came and went… and welcome October. I’m so ready for all things fall, and have been enjoying life with pumpkin everything as usual. This is my favorite time of the year. Hello crisp days, cool nights, fallen leaves, fire pits, warm blankets and ghosts and goblins. The Hall family is ready for you!
Addisyn turned 18 months old a few days ago. She continues to amaze us daily with the things she says and does. Her current obsession is Frozen, which she loves to sing and dance to. Along with chasing Addy around we are getting ready for our baby boy in just a few months. Addisyn is preparing for her brother’s arrival by learning how to be “nice” to baby. We’ve talked so much about the baby in “mommy’s belly,” that she’s starting to begin to make a connection. She always says the baby is “sleeping in belly,” which is pretty awesome for an 18 month old. We are so blessed to prepare to welcome our sweet baby boy and complete our family!
We celebrated Aunt Mandi’s 33rd birthday last week. Addisyn enjoyed celebrating the day by joining in on singing, playing with her birthday balloon, and her favorite part of devouring her cup cake. She completed the celebration with an icing kiss on Aunt Mandi’s picture and continued to sing “Happy To You” for several days. It’s so bittersweet, but as I decided last year, Mandi’s day will not be a day of sadness for Addy but a day of celebrating the life of an amazing woman. Happy 33rd Birthday in Heaven Aunt Mandi!
In other news, I’ve been accepted to join the Chick-Fil-A Mom’s Panel for the second year in a row. I am so excited to work with Chick-Fil-A, Maria Bailey, and BSM Media for another year of fun! BSM Media and Maria welcomed all the of the 2015-2016 moms into the group with a fabulous care package complete with gift cards for their new Greek yogurt parfait and their delicious frosted lemonade! Addisyn was able to test out and approve the Greek yogurt complete with fresh berries! So nice to have a healthy option to go with breakfast when you’re in a hurry. Addisyn of course also tested out and approved her new CFA cow! Thank you BSM Media for the welcome package and cheers to another year of Chick-Fil-A fan fun!
As my obsession with Chick-Fil-A is at an all time high (let’s blame that on these pregnancy hormones!) we were able to have an amazing experience at our local Chick-Fil-A recently. Family Date Night was actually held on the night of my sister’s birthday. We were able to attend and had an amazing time. We were greeted by our “waiters” in formal attire and showed to our reserved table set just for us. Our food was served to us on platters at the gorgeously set table. Addisyn enjoyed the flower center piece and her even her ice cream was served right to our table. While we dined we enjoyed the harpist playing and the singing of vocalists. At the end we had family portraits taken that were framed for us. What a fun night it was! Yet another reason to love Chick-Fil-A! I remain updated on the events of my favorite local Chick-Fil-A’s by being a fan of their Facebook pages. It allows me to keep up to date on all the things that CFA does that goes above and beyond serving that delicious chicken each day.
We have been experiencing rain for over a solid week this past week on the VA coast and though the rain will continue this weekend, it looks like the hurricane will nicely miss us. Addisyn’s amazing soul seems to love the rain as much as she does the sun. She hasn’t minded the puddles, or the wetness; instead she’s admired the dripping rain from the windows and shrieked when running through it outside. It’s the sweetest, most simple reminder to watch her face as she takes in the rain and innocently enjoys what the rest of us feel as an inconvenience at best. Sometimes it takes a child to remind us that we truly can delight in all things! I soak in this lesson myself and think of all the other areas in my life that would be better if I shrieked in delight instead of allowing anxiety, fear, or worry to gravitate in when I encounter an inconvenience. I’m guilty of taking myself and life all too serious sometimes, it’s taken my daughter to teach me that even the days that aren’t designed exactly like I plan are still gifts from God. On that note, it’s time to find some rain boots and go stomp in some puddles as soon as nap time is over.
