6 Months Catch Up… We’ve been busy!
Can we all just pretend it wasn’t 6 months ago or so that I last wrote to you? To say life has been busy is an understatement, as I’m sure yours is too! We’ve had lots going on in our household; some good, some bad, and some in between… but always on our toes with these growing babies! Currently, we have a 3-year-old and a 2-year-old! (Yep, there’s a post coming about our newly turned TWO years old little man.) Since the fall here’s what the Hall’s have been up to:
- In October, I underwent a partial hysterectomy (might as well put it out there!) after suffering for over a year with issues no one has time for, my amazing OB encouraged me that the best way to return to a normal quality of life was to have surgery to remove scar-tissue and adhesions from my C-sections as well as Adenomyosis. Let me tell you… best decision ever. Since we were already done having kids (biologically, at least) there was less of a mental blow that this was reality at age 31. So I did it, and I recovered, and that accounts for some of my fall absence. 😉
- We had a fab time at Halloween this year, I was a few days post surgery but refused to miss out on the fun, and made it to the neighborhood party and a few blocks trick-or-treating. We had Mickey and Minnie in tow. Two of the cutest mice I ever did see.
- Thanksgiving quickly arrived and we hosted Nana and Papa as our usual routine. This year we did low key and chose a pajama day for Thanksgiving. We grabbed matching PJ’s, played board games, watched movies (um, hello Christmas Vacation!), Justin smoked a delicious turkey, and we counted our blessings as we soaked up some family time with the kiddos.
- We took a trip back to visit family in early December. We were met with snow at Nana’s house and enjoyed our first snow of the season. The kids had a blast!
- December also brought lots of excitement with a Christmas production at Pre-school for Addy, lots of fun Christmas playdates, the extended stay of Popcorn our Elf, Christmas movies on repeat (Frosty and Polar Express primarily), celebrating Jesus’ birthday, and the visit from the big man. The kids each got bikes this year, along with a plethora of other goodies. We also took them to their very first movie, The Star Movie!
- January brought lots of SNOW for us. We had several snows, one bringing over 14 inches and these babies lived it up. Snow, hot cocoa, and repeat. Oh, and Josiah turned TWO! (See his birthday post coming up next!)
- February- Finally, February which seemed to be the month of sickness. Our house was struck with what seemed like sickness every single week in some new way for a new person. We celebrated Daddy’s 34th birthday, and got the first taste of spring weather!
Ah, that feels good. All caught up! I hope you and yours have had many magical days!
-Kristy
