Josiah Digs Being TWO!
The Christmas decorations were coming down, and I immediately began party planning for our soon to be two-year-old. Josiah is ALL boy! He’s constantly running, jumping, and climbing; and he’s infatuated with balls, trains, trucks, and all things that move. Deciding on his party theme was simple, it was either sports or trucks. So this year was big trucks! He was so excited when his invitations came with the large yellow dump truck adorned on the front and his picture on the back. He couldn’t wait for his “big truck party” to take place!
We had a small gathering with some close buddies and Josiah partied hard! He had the best time jumping in the bounce house with his buddies for his birthday. The kids played with trains, trucks, and bounced their hearts content. Then came the cupcakes… and boy does this guy know how to enjoy a cupcake?! We rounded out the party with gifts, which he was delighted when he realized he could actually sit down and rip them open. The packaging was indeed as exciting as the contents. He received a toy workbench which he constantly spends time tinkering with, and is always ready with his tools to help Daddy. His other large gift was a strider bike from Nana, which he was stoked about (and admittedly we are still waiting for the weather to lighten up and get out there and ride some more… spring is coming…maybe…). He was showered with gifts from his buddies including construction pajamas, books, more tools for his work bench, and an ice cream gift card which he was too cute “paying” for a treat for him and his sister with! On his actual birthday, Daddy took off the day as his usual tradition and we celebrated as a family with the trampoline park, arcade games, lunch, more cake, and a family movie night.
I’m not sure how it’s here that you’re two already, Josiah. I have to say how fun you make our lives. You are rambunctious, fearless, determined, and funny. You are also incredibly loving, caring, and thoughtful. Everyone is always super impressed at your communication skills, you’re a talker like your sister and get it honest! You are also really impressive with hand-eye coordination, and are a natural at what seems like every sport, just like your Daddy. It’s amazing how much you watch and learn from the world around you, and how much you learn from your sister. She is most definitely your very best friend, and I hope in life you two remain as close are you are right now. (Side note: we knew we wanted our children close together, but we never could have imagined the bonuses that would come along with the chaos of having 2 children under 2 in our home and watching them grow together.) Josiah Steven, you make our lives incredibly happy, full of laughter, and give us the sweetest family moments. We love you, and are so glad you DIG being TWO!
