Accountability for My Children…what I think they’ll need for Themselves and for Society
We live in a world where an entire generation or more of individuals have been raised with the mentality that they are not responsible for their own actions. Every bad, or unfortunate event, and unforeseen circumstances rests at the feet of someone else, and there is always someone else to blame for their misfortune. A scapegoat to take the fall for all circumstances, regardless of their participation. There is a whole generation of victims who are blameless in their own sight. These gentle lambs are quick to grab a sign and become an activist against their oppression/oppressors, take to the streets, make their voices heard, support a cause (even if…

Halls over here like…
Life can get busy and inundated with even good things. Currently we have a lot of good things going on! We’ve had fall trips and visits from family , tackled a backyard remodel (that was nothing short of exhausting but oh so dreamy), Justin’s playing every sport there is (per usual) and also rounding out his final classes of his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Go babe!!), the kids are in all different directions… growing, thinking, learning, exploring, and we’ve had lots of fun fall to-do lists. We’ve spent time at pumpkin patches, pumpkin play dates, Busch Gardens for some fall fun the littles always look forward to, and of…

Fearless- An Update on Josiah
Fear. It’s compelling… it’s sometimes pesky, and sometimes it’s debilitating. The culmination for fear for myself took place these past weeks regarding Josiah. The fear of a mother for her child is almost a physical pain. Since Josiah was 9 months old and we were told something was not quite right with his blood, I’ve had a looming fear of his diagnosis. Since then we’ve been misdiagnosed, re-diagnosed, and for the last year we’ve heard multiple doctors in collaboration say these words, “we don’t understand”. I’m not sure how to describe the feelings as a parent that you feel when you’re in limbo regarding your childs health. He’s asymptomatic (praise…

Mary and Martha
Luke 10:38-42, tells the story of Mary and Martha. How many of us are guilty of being “Martha” in our lives? I read this story recently and was immediately convicted, and not for the first time. I am all too often a Martha. I’m constantly distracted and preoccupied by the preparations of life. There’s always something to be done, something to be taken care of, and something to accomplish. It’s easy to lose focus among never-ending shopping lists, shopping trips, chores, tasks, errands and more. My children are 2 and 4-years-old, and they have activities, and schedules, and need to eat…like every day! It seems that if we try, we…

Our Empty Summer Bucket-List
The littles are keeping us super busy, and we’re loving every minute of it. If I could bottle up their current energy, sweetness, and happiness and save it…I would. I get lost in those quiet moments, the sweet laughter, the cozy cuddles, the bedtime rocking, the sweet little cheeks and the feeling of their tiny arms around my neck. The days are full of chaos, but good and sweet chaos. With a 4-year-old and 2-year-old there isn’t a dull moment. For Christmas, Justin insisted I get an Apple Watch because I’m notorious for not answering calls or replying to texts… I know those of you know me are shocked right…

Four and Fabulous!
March came, and went. We partied, we celebrated, we had fun! I was not in front of the computer screen writing as much as I would have liked to be; however I was busy enjoying life. We enjoyed many things in March; the late winter snow that came a few times, dinners with friends that are more like family, ice cream dates, trips to the movies, the kick off of soccer season, starting our indoor seedlings, St. Patrick’s day playdates, game nights, and finally Addisyn’s 4th birthday festivities! To think that my first-born, my baby girl, is now 4-years-old is almost surreal. Time is passing so fast, and while she’s so young…

Josiah Digs Being TWO!
The Christmas decorations were coming down, and I immediately began party planning for our soon to be two-year-old. Josiah is ALL boy! He’s constantly running, jumping, and climbing; and he’s infatuated with balls, trains, trucks, and all things that move. Deciding on his party theme was simple, it was either sports or trucks. So this year was big trucks! He was so excited when his invitations came with the large yellow dump truck adorned on the front and his picture on the back. He couldn’t wait for his “big truck party” to take place! We had a small gathering with some close buddies and Josiah partied hard! He had the best…

6 Months Catch Up… We’ve been busy!
Can we all just pretend it wasn’t 6 months ago or so that I last wrote to you? To say life has been busy is an understatement, as I’m sure yours is too! We’ve had lots going on in our household; some good, some bad, and some in between… but always on our toes with these growing babies! Currently, we have a 3-year-old and a 2-year-old! (Yep, there’s a post coming about our newly turned TWO years old little man.) Since the fall here’s what the Hall’s have been up to: In October, I underwent a partial hysterectomy (might as well put it out there!) after suffering for over a year with issues no…

We Were Meant to be Courageous
In the book of Matthew, one of my favorite can’t-put-it-down books of the Bible, Jesus reveals the power of having faith and believing in Him and The Father. I mean who else scours those red words re-reading repeatedly for some kind of miraculous wisdom to impart upon you? Out of all the miracles you read about at the beginning of this book, the common denominator is the amount of faith the individuals have in Christ and His healing abilities. We even learn that Jesus didn’t perform many miracles in His own hometown because of their lack of faith. Ponder that… how many miracles would you and I miss in our “hometown” because of…
